Thread: Access to For Sale & Wanted Section

Okay some have noticed that "For Sale" had disappeared. Most will now see it back again.

In essence to overcome the forum being used as a cash machine. I've set some requirements before access to post within these sections is allowed.

1. 50 Posts
2. 30 Days registration
3. 5 or greater Repuation Level (See Here - Reputations)

ALL must be achieved NOT just one or the other.

The practice of interfering with threads is NOT be allowed within these sections.

1. Only post a response to selling / wanted posts if your a genuine potential purchaser / seller
2. No posts that undermine the original sellers / wanters post.
3. Only bumping allowed by the seller / wanters - once every other day

Failure to comply will result in access being removed with your reputation being kept at zero for 30 days.

We will monitor this over the coming months - we do have other tools at our disposal from moderating all posts to assigning a new moderator/s to look after this section akin to guard dogs that have teeth to remove posts that are interfering.

If people want advice on a possible purchase they can access the main forum. Put the shoe on the other foot if your selling and someone suggested it too expensive its the sellers choice to set a sale price and its the buyers choice to decide if they wish to purchase. Third party views not needed.

Those outside this can view but NOT post. So potential buyers have the opportunity to see what is for sale and can check back through a members posts to see some history.

Other stipluations are that "Any Thread", offering sale of items outside these two forums myself and mods will be remove them without consultation with the thread owner.

This is our first strategic attempt to overcome certain members who join and leave a trail of mess with dodgy goods and unhappy members not getting what they expect.

Also Chat will be pulled into this to stop scammers attempting to peddle stuff under the counter out of mine and mods overall view.

If you feel you meet the above and want me to double check your status then please PM me direct.

Please understand that this is not something I really want to do, but given a few scammers attempts lately my concern is to ensure that we have a better level of protection for members.

We do have other options to play with after this but it will make access even tougher.

I think this makes perfect sense Stuart and closely mirrors the requirements established in a number of photographic forums I belong to.

I can joking aside, but a potential purchaser can't see my lads 450 pics i have just added for him, doh, but i understand why it has been done.

No - people can view it but NOT post into it until they meet the requirement. So only those that use the forum as it should be first and foremost and other members start to have a feel for the type of person before they get the opportunity to start to sell stuff.

Cant see the for sale or wanted forums... Something we need to do in order to get access Stuart?
