Default RJX crrc gasser now pulling my hair out ahhhhhhhhh

So a quick update on my CRRC gasser; I am no further forward infact i am ready to smash the thing to bits.
After spending hours trying to get this thing started after doing the following.
    Replaced: spark plug
    cdi unit
    piston ring
    gaskets
    ign pick up
Removed carb cleaned and replaced gaskets
Reset ignition timming to 28 BTDC allso tried TDC
I have made myself a jig and an adapter to start straight from the fan using a 24v drill so it is getting a real good spin over.
All I seem to get is a bit of a pop out of the exhaust.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ian

    Sounds like a fuel issue.

Is the carb back to default needle settings?

OK so if the low needle is as per the book and the engine does fire (by the 'pop' that you are getting when you crank it over) what happens if the throttle trim is increased to let more fuel into the engine?
The butterfly valve's not shut down too much at idle is it?
