I'll have to try and find out who owns the land.

From what I gather though from dealings with the MMF and this site, they have told me that they have no control over the site, it is simply a verbal agreement that rc pilots can use it. However, I will get classification.

All flyers want to know is that they have 3rd party public liability and member to member cover set to £5m. We could have increased to £10m but again its not warranted for the majority of flyers. Plus the CAA have acknowledged that £5m is enough.

Nitro it all depends on your circumstances if your a country flyer then you have a choice. If your in a club then the club need to decide its path effectively there is an option for all clubs to give that choice to its members.

I havent been a member of the bmfa for two years and i have no intention to return.
    thanks for that Stu

the club isnt registered with bmfa just needs the thrid party so i double check with club owner when up there next to make sure but should be good to go

Its up to the club/s tbh certainly i would expect Adie @ eagle will confirm that ALL are welcome. Weve debated this issue a million and one times in the past and my view will not change. Its ins nothing more further more on this one its the very same insurance company the road traffic act requires only £1m cover third party.

Much as I would love to move to another insurance am afraid it will have to be BMFA for me as most of the flyins I attend are BMFA only . Would be nice to see another alternative out there though Good luck with it though Stuart

I'm open to correction, but I think in the last year that RCHA insurance was available, regarding fly-ins, it was pretty much only Charmouth that insisted on BMFA insurance. If there are others that are known it would be good to list them.

I have no idea on the competitions, but perhaps that is something that can be confirmed sooner rather than later?

Mike we took the stance that we would allow RCHA insurance for our flyin as we considered it adequate. The BMFA acknowledged that we did not put in jeopardy our affiliated status nor the club insurance through that affiliation. It will have to go to the committee but I don't see too many reasons why we wouldn't accept it again. Mark_T is up on this sort of thing and a member of the committee so I reckon we'll get an informed view from him. Good luck Stu, it's good to have alternatives.

That's definitely a better number than BMFA's charges!
I'll check with my club to see if I can get this instead of BMFA's. I'm not bothered about competition or flying at fly ins. I just want to be able to fly at my club!
