    Cool Flight training from helituning.com

    Hi guys,
Ashley and I have started creating some flight training videos using Phoenix recordings and then editing it up with a voice-over to explain.

The flight training link is at the top left of the website, next to the blog link.

There are only a few up on the site for now, but more will follow, and suggestions for what you would like to see on there are welcome (there's no guarantees on any requests making an appearance, but we will do our best! ).

Some other manoeuvres are a little more complex to explain so further editing etc is needed, and there are already videos falling into this category which are being worked on and will be published once they are done.

We hope you find this to be a useful resource!

    Cheers,
    Rob

On a related subject; I have been trying to get a handle on this 'lazy 8' thing for the A cert. I just noticed last night that there is a lazy 8 in Phoenix done by Duncan Osbourne.

Is that really a reasonable guide to what they're looking for on the A cert?

(albeit a bit slower I suppose)

I didn't realise that is what is meant by a 'lazy 8'. To me it's more of a tail-in
side to side motion that doesn't really resemble an 8 to me.

Firstly they have spelt Duncan's surname wrong unless there is a Duncan Osbourne out there that does demo flights for Phoenix.

I would have to say that would be very marginal and probably a fail at the A test. I also find it hard to believe that was Duncan flying. When the model went from left to right it also came back level with the pilot instead of staying the 5 or 10 metres out in front of him. The turn then to go from right to left was pretty poor. The shape of the flight path however is what the lazy 8 is. You fly it at a walking pace and have to make the turns using aileron control.
