Looks like you been in the wars Haydn.Ja, I know all about the wind in the not-so-fairest-Cape! You get the south easter blowing and you know all about it.Go around the otherside of the mountain and the weather can be totally different.I was also amazed at how small an incision i had made in my hands, also keyhole surgery, but done that the incision was along one of the lifelines or what ever you call them.Hardly noticeable. Just take it easy for a bit to let it all knit together nicely. Thanks for the info on the cutters, can also get those from Germany, the rep knows i am open to bribery if he wants good orders.Spend enough with them, so he is always more than happy to get some samples for me and my hobby. lol.

As for those files, yes, i opened a drop box account this morning.Never used it, so hope its idiot proof! Just let me know what you need, but i am in no rush what so ever, so please take care of yourself and we will sort something out at a later date.To be perfectly honest, i am totally snowed under at work for at least the next two weeks, so doubt i will have much time to do anything anyway.

What sort of components do you make and what machines are you using? Software?

This is probably dead simple for you guys, but I'm blown away be something that Haydn just made for me. I had pm-ed him on Monday as he seemed to be local and had a lathe (it was only after that that I watched some of his Youtube posts and realised that he actually made his own helis etc.) as I wanted to get a swash-leveller that, I had taken out from 5mm to 6mm for my Mini Protos. Even though he was due to have his surgery he suggested that I went round yesterday and he'd help made out.

In the space of a couple of hours in his shed (and what a shed - more like Aladin's cave) he designed, set up and made a new swash leveller from scratch - it works perfectly first time and it was done with only one and a half working arms. Unfortunately my camera doesn't really show it up well, but I'm so pleased - thanks again Haydn.

Oh and by the way - his helis are MASSIVE

Now why don't ALL swash plate tools look like this?? No stripping the entire head or leaving the only bit that really makes it look like a heli off til last thing!!

I spent 20 years as a toolmaker, you don't have to tell me. They find a new button in the software, press it, wondering what marvels it will reveal and then want it made, no matter that it's unmakeable, and or impractical, or just a complete waste of "OUR" time . I'm glad I've left those days a long way behind me!!

    Thanx Stu!..
I remember saying I needed to make one and you said it was already done...and ya did send me a link ...but I needed to make one for myself and out of my own brain so the opertunity arouse when Mike needed one and was prepared to drive from Henley to get it made...This is not an original concept guys...like most things in the world its been said and done before...I did however make my own design and didnt copy any parts or ideas...Mike was there and he gave me some vital measurements and made a drawing and adjusted for some tool boundrys and presto it popped out the acrylic in a few min's to Mike's delight...seeing the smile on his face knowing he wouldnt have to strip his heli down to set the swash level was cool...now to make my own as well hehehe!
    Thanx again!

Hi volt, should you ever be somewhere near portsmouth(heaven knows why!!), give me a shout. I've got a whole tray full of FC3's, some new, some wierd and wonderful shapes. Most still useable, yours if you want them. No good sitting in my garage doing nuffing. I've offered johnny Bravo my old mics etc (very cheap), but you're welcome to have a root through the other gear I have, if it will help you out. I did have a copy of mastercam 8 somewhere!!
    Cheers, Andy.

I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Haydn's work first hand today, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement, the stuff this guy can make is amazing, and he clearly has a real passion for his work. His 1000 size heli is simply amazing. And the workshop.... ultimate man cave :-)

Haydn I am going to crash my 600 pro so you can make me some new parts, and some personalised skids would be nice too

Just to show ya what Sam's on about...these are the Stuart,s Frames in production...He requested a forward "HOTROD" type Rake and a 45 degree spay on the skids as well as an overall chop on the height..so who am I to disagree with a 3-D Pilots request heheheheh!..

you see these are to convert what he already has to something a little more special
..But Stu has Flown the Volt 700 and........ was warned he would love it...so now Stu's busy kicking some parts around already in antisipation of things to come!

    cheers
