Charlie,
I use a Mac for everything else, this PC is purely for Phoenix and for my wife for email and browsing ![]() If I could afford to I'd buy myself a new iMac for dual boot and give the wife this machine but I'm financially challenged currently. Even if I did that I'd still need a legit copy of XP or similar!

I'm lost now LOL
Just went on the crucial site and it reckons my motherboard has 3 slots, I'm sure I've seen 4 in there but in like 2 lots of 2. I then went to the ASRock site and found the motherboard and it says it can take 2x PC2100 133Mhz SD Ram or 2x 266Mhz DDR Ram Not sure if it means it can take 2 of each at once. Bloody confusing ![]() Ah just reread and it can take one or the other up to 2Gb so I basically need 2 new chips to get up to max memory ![]() So which of these is the better option? DDR x 2, DDR266/200 non-ECC, un-buffered memory SDRAM x 2, PC133/100 non-ECC, un-buffered memory

Your motherboard will have 2 sets of 2 slots, one set of 2 is for the SDRAM 133MHz and the other pair is for DDR2100. You can only use one or the other... for better performance use the DDR2100 266MHz RAM, they will only fit in one type of slot.
Hope that helps |

Just went on Crucials web site and they suggest the same memory as you. More cash LOL
It appears that many of the drivers on my PC are well out of date having run Driver Detective but I think I'll be searching them out my self rather than register it and let it do it for me!

Hi Phil
I seem to remember you have Avast which can slow down PC - suggest uninstalling it. I did it and my PC back to its original speed. You've nothing to lose - you can always reinstall Avast.
