    Well , what a plonker I am

Been on the flying holiday this week , and it was very busy ( all them plank boys jumping the queue ) just as I was about to start and checked all me switches , then another plank fired up . So I put my tx back in case and waited for the heli slot ...... when I put my tx in the case l must of knocked the 3 way switch into id 1 , yep I should have checked it but I didn't want to miss a slot.

F*** me , that's scary holding the head ( being a nubie I didn't know what to do ) fortunately my mate Dave was on hand to save me .

So I now need a new liner so I'm grounded , and my 500 has gyro issues again, so I'm sat at home on such a nice day.

    Sulking Alex

    Oh and loads of Planks.

Thats why I avoid flying where plankers flying! They always think that they can go first! They just fire up and b&^&**x to anyone else!

And yes you should checked your transmiter before you fire up! But having to rush in the flight line before another planker jump the cue again, then it's easily done!

Still I've got something to repair , and some learning to do.

As a plank flyer myself I do ask the heli guys for a slot. But it seems not all are as polite .

          Never mind!
Heli flyers that also fly planks I have no problems with!
But purely plank flyers, it's a different story.
Unfortunately I am speaking from bitter experience!

            Agreed.

I don't fly as this particular club, but I have been there on funfly's. There were heli pilots doing there stuff, and you know how aggressive that can be, then along comes a plank flyer and takes off right where the heli is. Another one flying around and then shouts landing, so the heli guy has to get out of the way for him to land, right in the middle of a full blown 3D routine. Surely they have the sense to wait 3 minutes for the heli to finish. Lack of respect in my book.

They do it at my club too, so when im ready I just fire mine up and stand with it idling by the pilots box, they soon bugger off, cos they know I wont take no messin, and because I use all the sky theyre afraid to fly with me cos they cant put their planks where the want them. Ive already proved im more than capable of flying at the same speed as planes and flying precise circuits.

I just make daft mistakes wen im too low and batter my heli LOL
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

I think generally speaking every heli pilot has this problem with planks, they push in front, and it feels that they will not give you a chance to fly, I just put my running heli down on the field, take off into a hover in front of the pilot box, they soon get the message, 700 is best for this ,it is bigger

plankers get alot of stick but have belonged to several clubs over the years and even in pure heli clubs you have those that believe they take priority over all others
many claiming it,s there club and all others can wait they remind me of dinner school bullies and should be treated with the same contempt when we used 27/35m we atleast had the means to end there rule

Isn't the problem that you have several planes in the air; then as one comes down, another takes off ? So there's never a gap ?

I'd imagine it's not different if you had several helis flying at the same time (from a plane perspective).

Commonsense, negotiation and brute force should work fine...

I've happily flown at the same time as planes.

always start with Throttle Hold on
and you will never get a hot start
always carry the model out with Throttle Hold on
it works and its safe and you never get that brown trouser moment if it starts full throttle
