  • heart pounding on a maiden with the 450

    well i bought a 450 from here yesterday and i was sent the file for a dx8. i wasnt sure it had throttle hold so i looked on you tube and figured it out so was then time for the maiden. my heart was pounding out of my chest. i spooled it up and it did a little wiggle front back n side then up she went.
    it flies like a dream with the settings i got. perhaps too responsive so i need to figure out how to dumb it down but it was so exciting.
    i am well chuffed.

    Nice one Don maybe try a little expo to dull it down, what fbl unit is it?

      Awesome mate!

      I agree with Tony try reducing the rates to 85% on Alieron, Elevator and Rudder.

      and about 25% expo on Alieron, Elevator and Rudder as well.

        As a general rule I would avoid using someone elses setup file, even if it is for the same helicopter (i.e. they sold it to you).

        They may use a different button layout, they may not have the switches set the same way as you do e.t.c. They may have set up the FBL / TX incorrectly.

            it was set up a little different and i did have a look with my amateur eyes. my biggest concern was throttle hold was not functioning.
            once i sorted that it looked ok to me and i took the leap of faith.

                Youll need to set the bx to transmitter mode before you can adjust expo etc then otherwise your stuck with the preset modes.

                      Setting up an AR7200BX is an absolute doddle. You can find the manual on the HH site, or on the BeastX site. You need "Parameter menu, menu B" for the response settings. For transmitter based reponse control, you want a solid blue light for that menu.

                      You don't really need to setup the BeastX though - you just need to check that you get a solid blue light for parameter menu B.

                        Just lower the head speed that will dumb the control surfaces down and give you longer flight time

                          Well done. You soon get used to it. I've had a break of a few months from my 450 as I got a 130-X to try flybarless. When I flew the 450 a few days ago it was a bit frightening again. Don't forget to check screws in metal for loctite, they undo very easily.
