  • TRex 600EFL and 500EFL Lipos

Thinking of getting some of these Turnigy 30c 3,300mAh 6s Lipos for use in a TRex 600EFL? Is this a wise choice?

Turnigy 3300mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack (UK Warehouse)

I'm also wondering if they would fit a TRex 500EFL? Or would I be better off getting the 3,000mAh version if I wanted to use them in both helis? I'd like to have flight times of 4.30 to 5 mins and I fly sport/aerobatics, not proper 3D stuff.

These are the 3,000 versions I'm thinking of by the way:

Forgetting about the pack sharing for a minute... which would be better for the 600?

I have been using Gens Ace 25C 2600s in my 12s electric 600 helis but I'm going to get a couple more packs soon and will be looking at either 30C Turnigy 3000mah or possibly the Zippy compacts.

I have the original version Trex 500 and 3000mah packs are the biggest I want to use in it

Sheryl, what flight times do you get with the 2,600's?

I'm getting 4:30 mins from my 3300 packs in my 600. With about 30% left in.

I am using those exact packs in my 600EFL. I get easy 5-6 minutes of mixed HS flying leaving plenty in the packs. They are a squeeze on the 500 but I have used them. You need the cut down frames if it's an ESP or the newer 500 with the new shape canopy and lower frame combo

So yes - a wise choice.

These HBP33001T-2 Twin Pack 6S1P 22.2V 3300mAh/40C/A fit in a T-Rex 500EFL Pro (I've not actually flown it yet, but they fit...) ; so you can possibly compare the specs/dimensions with the Turnigy ones.

I did, however, re-drill the rear canopy fixing holes to make it fit better; and also had to move some weight rearwards to balance.

                    I think I'm happy, though...

Will be too big for the 500 I think and CoG will definitely suffer

You must be flying a lot harder than I do!

I get 5.10 in my Trex 500 with el cheapo Turnigy 2650 packs that are two years old and 5.30 in the Beam and the Hirobo with pairs of Gens Ace 2600s and I have a little room to spare.

In fact I can get a bit more with the Beam as it's much lighter than the Hirobo. I ran a pair of 3300s for 6 minutes and still had about 35% left.

The headspeed on the 500 is about 2400 and I have no idea yet what headspeeds I'm getting on the Beam.

I use them in my Fusion 50, and also in my Trex 500.

My 500 is the later version of the ESP, with the lowered battery tray. I can't comment on the Pro, and no one at the club has a pro I could test fit one to tomorrow.

The balance spot on CG wise in my 500, though getting the wires out of the way of the canopy can be challenging.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

I just checked to see if the 3300mah Gens Ace packs I have will fit my 500 and they actually fit really well but my canopy sits a bit farther forward than the stock position because I have the Fusuno frames and I didn't want to cut them down so I moved the rear mounts forward about 2cm and put a plastic part from something (it's some kind of tray or something) as an extended lip at the bottom for the canopy to fit over. I have been flying it with Turnigy 2650 packs and a couple different 3000s and have always had to mount them as far forward as possible to avoid being tail-heavy (this could partly be due to running a full size tail servo).

These Gens Ace packs weigh 536 grams and with it sitting higher up on the battery tray the balance is good, slightly nose-heavy.

Soooo, I'll see what the Turnigy and Zippy 3300s look like as far as the weight and dimensions.

The Beam balances almost perfectly with the 2600mah packs but it seems to fly just fine a bit nose-heavy with the 3300s as well.

I fly turnigy 3000 and gens ace 3300 on my 500 efl and fusion 50

Get about 5-6 min in the efl and 7 on the fusion 12s

Gens are my preferred brand of late. But I have turnigy ok but are starting to go off
