  • New 600N DFC build advice

    Hi All

I'm just about to order a 600N DFC and I wanted to check if there was anything small that I need to add on to the order. I always seem to find once I buy a kit or some spare parts that it doesn't contain something that I thought it should and in the absence of a manual online I can't see exactly what comes in the kit and what doesn't.

Below is my current shopping list

    600N DFC super combo
    3Gx removed
    governor sensor removed

    AR7200BX
    Satellite
    DS615 Throttle Servo
    2s LiPo 3650mah 25C for RX

    OS 50SX-H
    Hatori 522
Does the kit come with Fuel tubing? what about Fuel filter etc and the necessary to plumb the tank and fill it etc. What about any wiring things extensions etc?

If anyone can see if there is anything I'm missing that would be a big help. I hate having to place little orders for stuff!

    Thanks

    R

    Glow start.
Mine did came with fuel pipe, but it was just about enough.
Maybe good idea to fit an expansion fuel tank too.
    Fuel magnet.

Beastx has no gov, so will need sep one, unless you won't to run on thr curves.

      if you haven't got
      swash leveller
      pitch gauge
      20% fuel fine on 50
      fuel pump
      starter
      1.5mm to 3mm Allen keys/ driver

        Thanks Both

Glow Start - I thought the voltage regulator in the combo is part voltage regulator part glow start. or have I misunderstood?

Swash leveler I'd missed so thanks for that!
        Other tools etc, got!

On the governor. Am I right in thinking the MultiGov is the one to go for? Any other alternatives I should be considering? Do I really need one? I'm still learning so won't be flying 3D yet....

        Thanks

My bad. 3in1 wasn't in your list so I thought you may used something else instead.
You may consider running a better regulator or even a life pack. Lot,s of folks had problems with the 3 in 1 switch playing up and loosing all power. If you can stretch for a Gryphon reg they are great.

Multigov it,s great governor. And yes install it right from the start, even if you not going to use it straight away, saving you pulling all your wiring at a later date.

            OK thanks

So the gryphon Reg would be a better bet than the 2 in 1 but then I'd also need a remote glow/or auto glow.

            Any suggestions on those?

            Thanks

I have never had issues with the align 2 in 1, i know people have but i still rate them as a good allround unit, and not having to have a seperate glow is a bonus.
As for gov, you cant beat the align one for simplicity, works as well as many others that cost alot more, is a good gov

Perhaps get a genuine a123 LiFe and as long as your servos will take it you can run unregulated if you like.

The Align AIW can have issues with the switch, be worth looking them up.

The STD clutch assy bearing block is plastic might want to get the metal one?

The STD third bearing block, which the STD mainshaft will not actually reach, is also plastic so you might want to get the longer shaft and a metal third block.

The geometery of the swash may not give the blue light for 8 degrees with the STD grips and balls? I don't actually know so it might not be a worry. If it is then KDS do some different sized grip arms which might help.

I've used a header tank on mine too for a little safety and an added couple of minutes flight time.

The STD fan is plastic and apparently can throw gov magnets, a metal one is available.

                Cheers

As James says, the 2in1 is fine best advice I can give is keep the switch part as far away from fumes and fuel and all should be well. Don't worry about the metal parts until your flying has advanced more. And the Beauty of a reg is your servos get more of a consistent supply voltage all of the time. So stay at same speed. Jmo.

Thanks Everyone for your input and advice

I failed to get Approval from the wife to take advantage of the 10% off at Align-trex.co.uk this weekend so no go on this just yet. I did promise that I'd sell my Raptor 30 first so I'm no that surprised.

Anyway I have my shopping list all ready so I can just place the order next time an offer comes around or earlier depending how impatient I get

                      Hi

I would also order the H60183M Metal Elevator Servo Mount saves you adding an extension wire. one other thing it your learning dont use metal wheels, yep bling does look good but not when you crash and strip all 3 servo's, at least with the plastic you got some give

I have used the combo kits before and they seem fine, the 3 gx now is not too bad although I have never used one, I have a mate that flies a 550 on it with the updated software and its fine. plus I think it has the governor built in now. if you are learning to fly there is no reason to start blinging up already. do it after it goes in. align will fly out the box I have flown these for 3 years, and yeah now I have gryphon reg etc but the align 2in 1 was fine. the switch did go in the end after about a year. Happy Flying anyway hope you get the heli you want mate
