I recently spent a bit of money getting my 450 sport v2 back in the air, flybarless this time. The mini vbar seems to be doing its thing rather nicely, but I've had no end of problems getting the tail to hold.
I'm using a MKS Ds95i servo for the tail, with the original tail parts, and on the first occasion of flying, the tail held for the first flight or so, then lost all authority and I had to mini auto to the ground. On inspection, the pitch slider was (commonly) slightly sticky, so I dismantled and found a destroyed bearing (the outer one on the tail grip). I see it's a common problem that the bearings go in the 450 sport tail grips, and replaced it (foolishly with the align ones I had in the spares drawer). Tail slider felt smooth once more, so I took it out again today, only to have very similar loss of authority, particularly for right rudder moves.
I plan to replace the bearings with quality ones.
So, does anyone have some good advice on what ones to go for? Is it possible to replace with thrust bearings? (I'm guessing not due to sizes - there seems to be a thrust bearing grip available on the market, but I'd rather stick to the one I have) - I've spent so much on this heli now, and don't want to keep spending on it while I have the logo to fly.
If you have had great results from the bearings you found, please advise. . . Maybe even a link of where I will be able to get them?
I really want to enjoy this heli, but don't want it to cost the earth every time I fly it.
