  • counterbearing support

anybody have any movement on the counterbearing, not movement as such but flex, after investigating the fault from yesterday,it did turn out to be that the main shaft collar had moved...i have pulled the head up and collar down but with an extra bit of(not too much)force i can also flex the counterbearing so as that my tail gear is tight to the middle bearing and the mast runs free and smooth but if i dont tighten the collar at this point the counterbearing will pull it back down a couple of mm,i dont really want to shim the gear down as when everything is pulled up tight it is in the correct position.......anybody have similar...600sx
    thanks

Hmm, there is, or should be at least two 0.5 mm shims between tail gear and second bearing, which should prevent any binding. I have not noticed any flex in 3rd bearing support

cheers michal, ive got 1 shim in there, dont ask me what size but when i built it originally this is what worked for everything to line up,belt central on gear and as close as can be centre to the belt guides, there was no flex in initial build.....seems silky smooth on spool-up and blades are 0deg at mid stick as per initial setup which points to some movement happening at the counter-bearing end......gotta keep an eye on the collar but to be fair it didnt take too much effort to snap the screw free of the threadlock so perhaps i didnt squeeze it enough initially....i dont think it'll move now as it couldnt possibly be squeezed tighter
