500 landing skid under 450

    500 landing skid under 450

    i bought this landing skid http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1908139420...84.m1497.l2649 to put under my trex 450 to avoid to break every time the torque tube gears. but i believe i done a mistake because they seem to be too long, does anyone manage to fit them? if so please share with me?

    Why not just put a couple of little spacer and longer Allen bolts in if you keep landing on the tail. Will jackup back slightly

      you would need to fabricate an adapter plate to go accross the mounting points on those new skids so you can screw the 450 to them

        The advert is for a 500 class heli - not a 450. It's not really surprising they don't fit .... 450's and 500's are quite different!

          The trouble with those skids is the mounting to the heli is a fixed length, If i were you i'd sell them and buy the Align 500 Pro skids like i did
          The good thing is you can mount them to the original 450 locations and chop a bit off the back of the tubes to make it look right

          If you want pics say so and i'll do it from my phone (its easier)

              I used the align 500 skids to raise my 450 up too, was easy to get them to work just needed to drill two holes and then they can be screwed down to the same location as the 450 skids

                  sorry... i meant i used the align 500 skids like these too: Landing Skid H50047 - ALIGN-TREX.co.uk RC Model Helicopter Specialists in ALIGN, E-Flight, Blade, Goblin, Synergy, ALeeS, Outrage, ELY-Q
                  I lined up the plastic bracket bit to see where the hole needed to be, it ended up being in between the two holes that are already there

                      Sorry, my post never showed up I think its because I included a link?.. basically I used the skids that have been posted the H50047 align ones, I had to drill the hole in between the pre drilled holes
