  • Vbar Gov with CC ESC

    Hi all,

I've decided to take the VBar Silverline off the Vision 90 and use it with my Rush 750. Now I haven't had any problems with the CC gov on my Fusion, but I'm wondering if I should program the ESC for external governor and use the VBar's governor instead? Or is it a fanny on to solder the HobbyWing phase sensor? Should I just keep neat and simple and use the CC governor as I do with the Fusion?

Its quite easy to get it going with the CC esc and the hobbywing sensor. Just follow my thread and feel free to ask questions: http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/mikado...-governor.html

The preemption works really well in the VBar and with the silverline it is easy to wire (unlike the mini)

    Cheers,

      Hey Harry.

I was just about to say Alastair's your best man for this question, as he's recently done it on his model and works well I am told.

Thanks for this, much simpler than I thought. I must have been reading the mini vbar instructions without realising. So is the Vbar gov much better than the CC gov?

Cool, I'll give it a go. I'm a bit nervous though as I'll be running a 120A HV ESC. Will that suffice on 690 blades with the agressive VBar gov?

The castle gov is good but I found that the headspeed would drop on hard collective and the tail would move slightly only using the castle gov. With the VBar gov on and the same gain settings you can see in the CC esc logs (if you put the sample rate up) the throttle coming in early and the headspeed is very stable and tail is solid. There has been lots of debate about the difference between governing at the motor only side or preempting with the FBL controller. Personally I find it better than it was with just the esc. The logs seem to show the governing is better too (and not difficult to do once you get the sensor).

Make sure you set the castle esc current limiting to insensitive as this will allow short spikes that would normally shut down the esc
