  • Esc or set up advice

    Hi,
Ive had my trex sitting on the shelf for some time and now got back into using it, a long time ago I must have made some adjustment to start aup and when I throttle up slowly the heli kicks a lot, there is no slow start..
Is it the Esc or transmitter set up, tried to change throttle curve etc but seems the same..
I had futaba 9 and decided to removal all and now have spectrum 8 to fit.. so thought may try fix this at same time...
    Any ideas..

You will have to re-programme your ESC to have a soft start not the Tx

Yes, the ESC should be soft start. Is this the Align 100A ESC? If so, I had some issues with mine - on mine there was an abrupt jump at a certain throttle point. As the throttle curve went throuh 88% to 92% the output to the motor seemed to jump. It resulted in a horrible twitch of the whole heli. I only found this through lots and lots of experimentation. I found that if I ran a flat curve up to 87% or above 93% the heli would fly lovely. Trying a flat curve between 88% to 92% or indeed a curve that passed through those values the twitch would come back. Eventually I changed the ESC for a CC Pehoenix and never looked back. Just an idea?
