    Recommended Tail servo ball distance - TRex 700N

    I have a T Rex700N running with my V Bar and a JR8900 tail servo.
    After loosing the tail a couple of times at the weekend and never quite getting rid of an annoying tail wag I am going to try a different servo.

    Having decided to swap this servo out to try a new Align DS655, can anyone give me a servo ball distance that works well for this setup?

    The servo ball distance is 15mm on the existing setup.

    The supplied six arm servo disc has an outer hole of only 13mm.

    What distance are you guys using?

    Morning mate.

    From memory with my Vbar setup on the 700E I'm running an arm length of 14.5mm on my current Align HV tail servo & 8900G/BLS251 on my old 700E, I'll double check it a little later.
    I use one of Futaba's large solid servo disks so there is plenty of strength to the setvo horn, but shape it to clear the frame brace etc.

    If you can avoid it I wouldn't advise the star type arms in the tail servo, reason being I've seen a few fail on 700's. I use this one;

      Thanks Ian, if you could double check later that would be great.

      As mentioned it has been at 15mm for some time and the tail has never really been that good. Any difference to the set up may be worth a try.

      A replacement servo should arrive later on so I can get to play around with it later.
