  • show me your BEC connector

I'm about to upgrade my 450 pro with external BEC (WD robotics Mini BEC G2) because it seems to me that MKS DS95 are drawing too much power from my Kontronik Koby (BTW I'll be probably also changing ESC, perhaps to Phoenix ICE 50 to get logging, but not decided yet). Batteries are 3S so the plan would be to simply solder both leads to the connector, but I do not quite see how to do this cleanly and then cover it up. Perhaps there is better way? FWIW my connectors are XT60, but I think EC5 is not that different ...

EDIT: the question is about soldering battery connector - I know to remove red wire from throttle link ...

I would put on a new connector (unless you can re-use the old one) and put the BEC wires in with the main power wires as you solder it up. Where are you going to find room for the extra bit of kit on the 450?

yup, that's plan A. Simplest possible. But since it's my first external BEC, I'm not sure whether it's the best plan too.

Under the main gear (either inside or on side). This BEC is tiny, but powerful.
