I'm sure there was a dentman van that i used to see all the time in basingstoke (in the merc bodyshop a fair bit). Not you?? If i wasn't needing new leathers for myself & the wife i would be strongly considering it....i'm not a goblin fanYes the big sigpic is coming back

it is surprising, but a sign of the times may be, and for some reason it seems to be viewed as a fast sports machine, rather than a model also capable of 3D. May be people are intimidated by repair costs, who knows.Originally posted by dentman View PostUnbelievably my 'tdr for sale ' post has achieved over 1000 hits in a week and still it remains unsold........can it be no one trusts a man that works in the motor trade!!
I've had mine for 6 months in its box, and its only been this week that i've kitted it out, albeit waiting for the motor.
Anyways, i'm sure it'll find a new home soon enough

If I had the money and space I would have snapped it up - it's a really good deal. That said, it's the cost of kitting it out that puts me off... that and I don't have the spare cash at the moment even for the air frame.

If it had a green, square carbon boom it would have sold by now!!
Shame, because every machine that's gone through dentman's garage is perfect, I've seen this TDR fly and it's top notch, whoever buys it will be very happy, especially for less than £500 to your door!!
See you up the field tomorrow Paul.

Maybe now Jan has caught up and there is no waiting list it has finally knocked the 2nd hand value of these down. They have always held their value excellently because of this so maybe now they will fall in line with what we pay for others that are used??Originally posted by dentman View PostUnbelievably my 'tdr for sale ' post has achieved over 1000 hits in a week and still it remains unsold........can it be no one trusts a man that works in the motor trade!!
Combined with the times we are in you may just struggle to get a decent amount for it.

TDRs became realtively common now, resale value is not what it used to be, even year ago. People also are more aware of crash costs on these (don't even think about less than 500£ on light-ish crash, they get mostly destroyed in crashes due to light airframe and speed they can achieve).
On the other hand it's a beautiful machine, but it's rather hard to grasp it's beauty if one never owned/flown one. There is still nothing out there which can compare, maybe Diabolo (I can't tell, never seen one in person). People think that some mass produced, but nicely packaged machines can compete with TDR - well, they are wrong
.
Mine is on the bench and will remain there for time being, but I miss it a lot and probably will start flying it again soon.
Other than that, high end gear sells slow, unless you give really bargain price, ppl just don't have money.Last edited by AcidDrink; 02-03-2013, 11:20 PM.Michal

It is nothing compared to what has happened to Srimok resale values. I understand airframes were trading for less than £200. I took mine off the market because there is no way I would let it go for that much. If I hadn't been spending so much on my new hobby, I would have picked up a few airframes for these ridiculous prices.
People tend to be sheep like and chase the latest craze. The herd has now moved on.Life's a bitch and then you fly!!

Srimok's have never really had good resale value and that is crazy. Most have never flown one and just will not experience what it is actually like to fly one. It is also the only model I have owned for any length of time which is saying something trust me lol.Originally posted by gorber View PostIt is nothing compared to what has happened to Srimok resale values. They are not over engineered nor have a crazy high parts count, except when compared to a Plastic fantastic lol.

Thanks for comments , I just find it amazing that this one advert has attracted so many hits ,that shows there's still an big interest in these models .
Ok so you can buy one off the shelf but that comes at a cost ( another £400 ) , parts are delivered in approx 4days and are always in stock , is any big heli cheap to crash?
Having seen one flown last year I just had to get one , it always impresses me on what it can do at low rpm and how long it flys for.
Plan A was to sell off three models ( TDR , Trex500 , Gaui X5 ) to make way for my new project , leaving me with just 3 kasamas and one other , looks like I better think of a plan B !!!
See you tomorrow G.Last edited by dentman; 02-03-2013, 11:54 PM.
