  • aligning an FBL sensor

It's not easy to place one of those tiny little sensors accurately, so that it aligns with the axis of the heli.
Solution, use calipers as right angle (picture).
They help a little to place it, but more importantly you can check. If it's off, try again.

Depending on the heli, it can be quite sensitive to small errors (causing aileron-elevator wobble). So working accurately pays off

Note the gyro mount plate underneath, that is pushed against the long ruler.

Where is the model? How would you do this on a Logo 500/600?

On a Raptor I used a SD card against the side and slid the sensor into place.

        absolutely.
What happens is that some of the real-world roll is sensed as nick and vice versa.

This matters most if the heli needs a lot of swash gain (smaller models).
Try to put some phase correction on a switch (i.e. V-bar bank switching).
I haven't tried with the absolutely latest firmware. But earlier, it paid off to tune it.

LEGO is brilliant for this kind of thing. With the added bonus of using it to pass away the crappy weather.
