I'll just mention, even though it's not a Fusion, I have a Hirobo SDX converted to electric and have been running it on 12s using two Gens Ace 25c 2600mah packs. I can get 2300 headspeed no problem and I'm getting over 5 minutes of 'big air' and sport flying, mostly at 2170 headpeed. But the Hirobo is considerably heavier than the Fusion even without LiPos.

Motor is Align 600mx and ESC is a Hobbywing 70HV.

Turnigy blue 30C 3300mAh. Timer is set for 6:45 and usually put back in ~75%

I'm considering getting a used Fusion 50 thats going cheap but I don't want to shell out for new packs as I've just bought a load for my 500DFC Pro. They are Turnigy (blue) 3000mAH 40C and I'm hoping to share packs between the two. Is anybody else using 6S 3000mAH (x2) packs and around how much flight time are you getting?

Those should be ok Craig. On flight times I have no idea but you should get 4-5mins easy.
It's going to be a super light Heli with those packs so look at 600mm blades to get the disk loading up a bit.

Thanks for the reply Joe, I will be using 600mm cheapies anyway Disk loading is something I hear quite a lot but still don't know what it means. Is this the size - power - rotor span? How does it affect flight?

The disk loading is the area of the disk while spinning divided by the weight of the Heli. High loading makes the Heli feel heavy and less responsive, but can also make it more wind resistant. Light loading makes it floaty and very fast and responsive. Most fusion flyers seem to use 620mm blades which gives the Heli it's very light but sharp feel.

Ah, I see ..... - thanks for a great explanation mate. I'm starting to think maybe I should fork out for some 3300mAHs - at least I can see what the 3000s are like with 600mm blades first as I already have both.
                          cheers again.

I don't know the grams but using Opti pack the 4300's are just too heavy for my fusion, I prefer the feel of te 3500's plus I still get 5 mins + with a reasonable headspeed
                            All the best
                            Tony.

Turnigy Blue 30c 3300 from HK UK warehouse are about £30 quid. A steal. I use them in my Fusion, Logo and 600EFL in the Fusion with the 4025 Scorpion I get about 7:30 in the 600EFL with the Align 600 motor I get about 6 mins.
                              Great batts for the money.
