Nothing really huge in the changes from what I've seen so far.

They are including SLT capability, this supports the 'TX-R' models which normally need the 'AnyLink' module, an alternative to HH and BnF.

      They are adding vibe alerts.

Some changes to the switches, some of the 2 position ones become 3 position.

Now 4096 resolution whoch suggests this may not be a modular radio and therefore possibly an end to the latency 'issue'.

More will be announced soon I'm sure, just hope it doesn't take them as long to release this one as they took over the A9

Got interested in the 9 today and ended up seeing the 9x is due out soon.

Some cracking deals on the go for the 9 however, is the latency issue an issue at all - just wondering whether to hang on and wait for 9x pricing.

That being said £200 for the 9 seems almost too good to pass up, its £60 less than the dx8.

Careful when comparing prices, a full DX8 kit ships with telemetry accessories, the Aurora doesn't, but it is able to report RX voltage without additional kit.

Re the latency stuff, I don't think it is as big a deal as a lot of people have tried to make out, but if they do remove it then it will be interesting to see if anyone really does notice a difference

As far as 'due out soon' goes, history has taught us to believe nothing Hitec say in terms of dates until you can actually buy a product from the store, so don't make plans based on any indications of dates you may see.

I fly with an A9 and I really don't think the so called latency issue is an issue whatsoever. The A9 is a very good radio and is so easy to programme and having used a DX8 I would say (imo) its an easy decision between the two, unless you want to fly Blade b'n'f models!!
Was loosely thinking of converting to Futaba recently, not sure why really, probably just because, but when I got down to it I thought what's the point, the Hitec systems I run on my helis have worked completely flawlessly and have had zero issues with any of them so I would welcome a new A9.
One area where the A9 is excellent is the centering of the sticks etc when setting up vBar tx calibration, only 3 or 4 points needed at full stick etc and only a couple of clicks to centre them which is pretty good.

Is it too early for a price of the unit yet??

What kind of flying do you do out of curiosity?

Have you tried the DX8 or something similar for a comparison - interested in your thoughts.

I use the 9 for fixed wing and heli plus am just having a dabble with multi rotor. Was a JR user for years then changed to the DX7 when 2.4 became available.

Later changed to a DX8 which I must say is the most disappointing modeling purchase I have ever made and have been modeling for about 42 years (yes it does make me feel old saying that)

Bought a 9 after talking to some one I flew with years ago normally wouldn't have given Hitec a second look but bought one and absolutely love it. Easy to program loads of features feels good to hold just everthing about it is right. Go out and look at one you wont be disapointed and at £200 an absolute bargain. Having now owned one and used it I would have happily paid double that.

Thanks and sorry for the slight hijack - interestingly held the Dx6 in the shop today and didnt like it at all.

Guy was in however with the 9 and straight away I liked the look of it much more. Should be able to decide monday after the club visit.

Shame the 9x might be a ways off really !

If it helps with the decision process, it is pretty much confirmed that there are no more firmware updates planned for the current A9, so it currently is as good as it is going to get.

Apparently they have run out of memory so no way to implement any more new features.

I am so confused it doesn't but just because not up to speed yet.

Its hard to ignore at the price point though and likely do me well for a good while!

Need to read up on using it with 3gx etc

Can't really say I want any more from my A9, hasn't been perfect but I love it faults'n all. I've just got a DSM2/X module for it from the states for my Nano, so that's extended it's life.
