I had a 700E v2, I used the align 5200's / opti 5000s / Gens ace 5300s and used to get 6 minutes comfortably of big air/sport/mild 3d flight with it. Literally 40% left in the packs when it came down.

If your using the stock align gear I should think 4000's would give you 4 minutes absolutely no bother whatsoever.

4000 packs are the perfect size for the 700, I've tried both 4000's and 5000's in mine and the 4000's are the sweet spot imo.

2000 in iu2 is more than enough for decent 3d but there's more there if you really want it, go over 2000 and flight time drops quite a bit for not much more gain IMO. 1980hs is enough for me and I get 6 mins in total using 4000's (inc spool up and landing etc)
There's plenty power at that speed but crank it right up and with 4000's you'll end up with 4 mins though. :-)

Re: t-rex 700e dfc batteries for sillyness flying

I ran it with opti 5000. 4.00 mins spanking at 2150 and its a beast.
Or I ran 1900 steady flying I would get 6 to 7 mins.

My preference if you want a balls out 700 DFC is to go with around 2150 headspeed and a light set of batteries with a good C rating. Weight makes a big difference in a heli's performance and is often over looked.

Batteries wise - I would recommend these Opti 50C 4300's. Optipower - OPTIPOWER ULTRA 50C LITHIUM PACK

I always run align 5200mah packs, If you run 2250 or 2300 you get 4:00 or 2200 gives me 4:30, 1950 is about 5-6 great packs had 80 on one of my sets and still going very very strong on castle link they hold a constant voltage for the whole flight!

                        Hey.

I'd suggest the 5000 30c OptiPower packs, I'm using these myself and think they are a great compromise between weight and capacity.

A lot of pack size decision depends on how hard you fly. On my own 700E DFC I get 4:20 from this size Opti's at around 2000 rpm if I am really going for it. Sometimes I come down with 30/38% left in the pack if I am learning something new and less aggressive, but if you like your tic toc maneuvers which are power hungry, anything less than 5000 is marginal.
The 700E isn't a lite model so will consume more power as a result.
                        .

If they are in stock highly recommend Gens Ace 4000, 25c. The C rating is very conservative or not exaggerated depends how you look at it. Giant Shark is the place. Haiyin I got direct from factory Europe warehouse. You'll enjoy that 700, George's is a great Heli.

Extra capacity doesn't come for free the cost is weight and that takes power to move around. There is a point where to light yields less time but 4000's is about a happy medium on a 700. A lot depends on setup, motors, blades, rpm, style etc so one size doesn't fit all but it's a good starting point.

JP has 8 Gens stick packs made up why not try one before you commit.

i'm running 4000mah 40c turnigy blue on mine and it is good for 4 mins with HS about 2050. i'm at the edge though on what you can take out the packs reliably so if your spanking it i'd get 4500mah ish, zippy do make one.

                              cheers
