Gonna have a thread that Im gonna update every now and then and have all the info in one place. As great as it is getting pm's etc asking about it and whats being used this that and the other it can be fun when I keep typing the same info lol so I will have everything to do with Spunky here.
Gonna start with today as up till now its all been test runs trying to get info from the Kosmik and more so to get my flying style sorted.
So for those that are interested keep checking back and ask any questions on here
3 flights today.
Flight one went fine after changing the head from the solid head with white bushes and red inner dampener and black outer dampeners to black bushes and both black dampeners. Feels very soft, even more so than before and in the runs it looked bouncy if that makes sense. Nothing real hard on this flight, went in to idle 3 (out of 4) but pitch was only around 13 deg.
Flight 2 was fun, upped pitch a little, not sure to what as left my gauge at home. Went in to idle 4 which has been set at my max speed I want to run for now. This was really screaming. Sounds awesome and when it goes past you know its super fast as your head turns so fast to keep sight of it lol. Still feeling a little bouncy in the straight part of the run.
Flight 3. Well poor Spunky gave me the heart attack of all heart attacks. Upped pitch to its limits which from memory is around 15.5 deg when I set it to 100%. Well done 1 pass in idle 3, then flipped to idle 4 and nearly lost it in the sky at an altitude of 680ft and so far away it was a dot but when it came screaming across in front of me it spased out big time. Tail come around and it flipped and flopped and god knows what else. Looked like I was doing some crazy 3D move. Luckily I was up high so once it finished doing that I swung it around and brought it in, QUICK. If anyone else was there who smoked I think I would have started again. Anyway, got a screen shot of what the logs from the Vbar showed which is just RC inputs missed???
Kosmik. Well this ESC can take a beating that for sure. On the 200 it can handle 10a cont and peaks of 30. I got a shot of this today hitting 10.5a and averaging around 5a. Temps for the BEC also go up to 80 deg c something. Hard shut down is at 100 deg c on this. The FETS hit 80 something also. I do have the Kosmik heatsink with the fan built in but have not attached it yet so this will help. I will adjust my hole in the cano slightly but cutting a groove cf duct I got installed so it hits the ESC direct then will go over the motor.
Motors amps hitting around 215a today so WELL within linits of the motor and the Kosmik. I have got good joints so am confident the Kosmik will not give me shutdowns as this increases as this is the most common cause of shutdowns as the amps start going up. Joints are the week points so as long as these are good you will be fine. Suffice to say I'm also well within the limits of what a Powerjive can withstand with perfect joints etc so got a way to go before the Kosmik is even stressed
