  • Vbar and Align DS655 help

Does anyone else run with this servo on the tail with a Vbar as I'm having real trouble stopping the tails wagging on three models fitted with vbar and the DS655. Never had any problems with the same servo and my Beast X units, but both my G4 and my Goblin today were wagging. I can't seem to get the gain anywhere near the 90 sized recomendation on the vbar software, and seem to go from a pronounced wag at low gain which is unflyable, to a fast wag at higher gains. Tried tweaking the settings in the Pro option as per MrMels vids, but I can't seem to dial them in.

If you have the same servo, could you post the settings, or am I trying to use a servo which is just not suited to the vbar?
    Cheers,
    Simon

    HI
is your tail travel on the v bar between 90 and 110 ish and the ball on the tail servo set around 13mm from center?
im running the 655 and also the 650 and can't get very high gains
its just one of them things with align servos

running futaba bls251 or the bls256 it just changes the tail on how high you can have the gain

even when I was using the futaba cgy750 unit I could never run high gains with align servos my advise is exspect to run low gain or change your tail seservo just my finding and thoughts

Can you remember what sort of gains you were getting. I think my ball is 14mm out and travel is more in the 80-90's I think. Tempted to treay myself to a more expensive servo and see if things improve.

I know mine are all around 110 each way if using the star horn it's the second hole in
as for the gain I can't remember without looking but it was towards the bottom of the scale

when I was using futaba cgy750 the align servo gains was late 20s where futaba was 50-60 with eaease the other thing you can always do is use smaller tail blades that way you will also be able to up you gain a little

although align servos work well but it's the case of get what you pay for you spent good money on a v bar then use cheaper servo so your loose performance

prob not everyone will agree but just my thoughts and findings
often you can get away with cheaper main servos but not on the tail

and now using flybarless you loose performance through lack of gains

the refresh rates are so high and fast in the top end flybarless units some servos struggle

align tend to design there stuff to suit there flybarless units same as there servo arms and wheels work fine on there units but are to far out on v bar and futaba units

so make sure you have on your head travel around 90

Will have a play on my Logo with the distance on the horn and see if that improves things. Going to try a 9188 Outrage servo on one of the bigger machines and see if that removes the wag. I'm happy with the Logo in general, it seems ot be the 90 sized machines which I can't dial in with the vbar and this servo.
          Cheers,
