• Warp 360 build

Just thought i would try and do a little build thread.
Box came nicely packed and a nice little surprise of a usb stick with the manual and parts list on.

    First is the main grips.
One went smooth as slick but the other one i had to tap out one side of the alloy holder !! No biggy just a pain.
    Don't like the 2.5mm button bolts !!

Swash is next. Seems stiff but will loosen up.

Now comes the dfc links. Now these are very beefy :) good size links and threaded bar, all the bearings are pre installed. Don't forget to size the links ;)

Main hub next. There has been some talk about the hub being a loss fit on the mainshaft. Mine was ok with a bit of thread lock. As agin the bearings were fitted along with thrust bearings.
The head is now all finished.

Tail section now. Nice alloy hub but needs the edge's filing down a little to stop the belt chaffing. My tail pulley was already pined :) Think the tail fin's a bit thin !!

Tail control arm. nice bit of alloy

Tail hub. Plastic grips with 2x bearings, plastic inserts and brass washers. I opted for KBDD blades.

Tail pitch slider. Just put a little locktight on the pin before its inserted.

Servos next on the list. Nice carbon plate so gear change's should be a doodle.

Belt pulley's. All went together fine just take note of how many spacers to use.

Auto hub and main gear. Hub looks like it will take a beating :)
Maingear has a lipped section to stop the belt coming off.

Motor. It's a 1320kv 8 pole, with 16t pinion. Make sure you mount it the same way as in the manual or it will foul the belt tensioners.
A nice centering tool is provided.

Left hand frame. This is were the elevator servo is located and a micro tail servo if used.

Next is the bearing blocks, I had to shorten 6x bolts as the main block wasn't tapped out fully. The anti rotation bracket is the same design as the TDR.
Servos are next along with the battery tray and frame stiffener. Belt guides are dry fitted with a nice carbon spacer.

Right hand frame now. This is the mini tail servo side, (dry fit)
Install the boom block and don't forget to put the lug closest to the front.

Skids and canopy mount. I filed a little chamfer were the landing gear fit to the mounts to aid install. There are 4x washers to use on the bolts from an earlier bag.

Boom install. It's a tight fit and a an anti clockwise twist in the belt.

Main gear. There is a small washer to fit to the mainshaft between the gear and bearing. I found that if you mount the drive belt first and remove the auto sleeve it's a lot easier to fit.

Nearly there just electronic's fit now. So here's a pic with the canopy on :)

Well got a little more done now !!
Electronics tray. I modded the tray a little buy dremeling the front tabs out to get the servo wires through. I mounted some thick foam to the bottom.

Heres how i mounted the esc and cyc wire's. It's a HW40 with hyperion phase sensor taped to the bottom.

Swash links now. Mine came assembled, these are very beefy for this size heli. Make sure to size them

Tail rod. All you need to do is ca the rod doublers on the end.

Here's were my fbl unit is going, as you can see there is quite a bit of room there. Just got to wait for the tail servo come now :crushed:

unfortunately still waiting patiently for mine. Should have gone to Weston. Chances of seeing it before New Year are fading rapidly. Not so Fast(lad) unfortunately. Bah Humbug! Grumble grumble!!

ah well. Have to have a few more drinks and play more board games this year!!
