  • Is it worth upgrading to DX8 from DX6i?

I've been flying my fleet (mcpx, 450 and 500dfc) using a DX6i, and have made reasonable progress... so is it worth spending the extra to buy a DX8?

Not necessary, but the DX8 has much better feel over the 6.
Also it's much easier to navigate through the menus and with allot more options.
But I know someone here ( Sams ) still uses the DX6i and I can't see he is having any problems giving that trex 500 a hell using the DX6I !

Depends on how much you intend getting into the hobby and also how much you like the good things in life! I had to upgrade from my DX6i to the DX8 as my Raptor E550 heli at the time required 120° mechanical swash and the DX6i only does 90° mechanical swash. I'm glad I did upgrade though as the DX8 is better on a number of fronts (not forgetting the extra channels). It feels nicer in the hand - better weighted and better materials and finish I think, which also makes it look nicer. The menus are clearer and more intuitive to use than the DX6i and the back lit larger screen is also an improvement.

So, assuming any of these benefits appeal or tick your boxes, you won't go wrong with the DX8, which is also keenly priced and everything you will ever probably need from a radio in this hobby.

        Cheers

A nice step up from dx6i, no regrets here.
