  • Do you use a carry bag for your TDR?

I recently received my Wingbag for my TDR. Have to say for protecting the paintwork its superb but its very soft unlike the Align one but I needed one that would fit Spunky in complete.

    Couple of issues.

Very thin material so will not give ANY impact damage unlike the Align one which survived a slide down my stairs at home with my Faifa inside. Totally unmarked and undamaged.

The base plate is too long to fit in the back seat of my car.

    and

The base plate is very slippery.

So, cant do nothing about the material used but I took a jigsaw to the base plate and took of a couple of inchs as Spunky on his own fits across the back seat fine. I then brought some Goblin battery straps, the elastic ones. Then I had some non slip matt stuff from when I got my tool checst left over so I cut out the shape off the base plate and glued it down, then when I put Spunky on this I then put the Goblin battery strap that is already in place, over the back of both landing gears and it dont go nowhere.

maybe you can use those soft rubbery type pads you can buy in Poundland to put on your dash in your car for keys and stuff to stop them sliding around? use this where your skids go inside the bag.

That looks pretty good actually. I have always used bags because I have had to carry mine a lot by hand. The first bag I used was a padded keyboard bag and it was big enough for .50 size helis to fit comfortably but ends up being a bit oversized in height. Then I got a 'Plusminusten' 90 size bag and I have two of those but they both have begun to tear where the sides are stitched to the base around where the heli skids go, but to be fair I am stressing these bags beyond what I think they were originally intended for.

I have a drum hardware bag made by Le Blond that works great for the 500 and will fit the 500 and 450 together with room to spare and it's padded and seems quite rugged and was cheap.

No bag used. I have a window sill board across the width of my van, and clamp the skids to that.

          yes I use this bag

60-90 Size Heli Carrying Bag D090

but I have to say I don't think it would give any protection if it fell down the stairs.

          - just re-read the title, I don't use mine for a TDR

Some of the better quality heli bags have little compartments for lipstick and powder compacts---OOOOER !
                        Trex 450 SEV2.
Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !
                        Trex 550 V2. Adrenalin ( brown kind )
mCPX, better than a Phoenix anyday.
                        Several planks, gathering dust.

Brains and thumbs work okay, but not at the same time.

I don't have a Bag for my TDR. I was going to get a Wingbag like you have, but kept putting it off. My son got a Goblin bag for his Goblin that is similar to the Wingbag. But neither of us liked it for the same reasons you mention. We both bought a Trex 700 bag for our Goblins which are brilliant. Unfortunately, it won't fit the TDR.

Now too many Helis to mention?

I have Align bags for everything else but to house this the canopy needed to be off which is no good.

The Align bags are the best quality bags I have seen tbf. No often you hear those 2 words in the same sentence pmsl

I have Trex Bags for everything except the 450s. Perhaps they might bring out an 800 version soon?
