  • Reciever battery

I have a 600e that has a receiver battery and an external BEC (brought like it second hand)and i want to wrap a fuz around it.

I want to get rid of receiver battery, is just a matter of getting a new speed controller? If so which one would people reccomend.

    Many thanks

You could, but personally I'd just use a LiFe battery straight in to the rx as this saves the cost of the ESC change and isolates flight control from any problems with the high power system (have you ever had an ESC pop in flight when you were relying on its BEC?).

I have a 1300mah 2s LiFe on my TREX 550 and it's good for 5 or 6 sporty flights. It's really light and very cheap (from Giant Shark).

I use Life 2100/2300on my 600E CF and 550s. Unless of course you have a Futaba Tail servo like one of my 600s had?
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

It does have a futaba 59650 on it if that helps

Like the others here I would also suggest keeping a seperate power supply for your radio and servos. I use the Align BEC on all my helis with a 2200mAh 2S Lipo. I also find that the extra battery helps with my centre of gravity.

I have a similar set up but currently use a 4000mah NiMH but it is old and needs replacing. Is there any reason why I couldn't use a 3S 2200mah lipo and an appropriate BEC that will take 3S? I realise that the normal battery is a 2S and so the 3S will be heavier.

I currently have loads of 3S 2200mah and if I can I'd like to get buy without buying more batteries if I can.
