    TDR easy build?

    so ive got the option of getting a new tdr had a quick look through the manual which is pretty long, just wondering if its a easy build i notice theres a lot of shims on shafts etc to get everything fitting well,I'm a mikado man really they just got together easy hassle free and then just fly never really needing ant maintenance , can i expect this from a tdr once its built or I'm always having to check clearances gear mesh etc, just want to fly it put it away and not have to do anything

    Very easy, dry run with only the shims in the manual then if needed add more at the right place.
    there are not many parts, and if you get it you'll fall in love with it.

      Hi Kyle

      Henseleit did a very detailed manual, however the build time is not excessive. I finished my TDR in about 12 hours from box to maiden.
      Points needing shims are four, just a couple of shims to fit well.
      My TDR recieved first maintenance service after 103 flights; i changed tail shaft bearings, counterbearing and motor bearings just for the piece of mind. I noticed a very little amount of vibrations around 10000 rpm ( about 340 without blades in spektrum analizer), so i preferred to change those bearings that were still in acceptable conditions.
      Set the gears mesh right once you will not touch them for a lot of time.
      It's an high quality kit, you will not been disappointed by it, but keep in mind that every helicopter need regular inspection and maintenance. Just only regreasing gears and thrust bearings, however those are necessary operations.
