  • MKS DS95i with 250 SE

I just installed a MKS Ds95i Tailservo on my 250 clone. it wont work. is it meant only for FBL heads? cheers Viper

you'll need to give more information that that, in what way is it not working? not at all? wrong direction? etc
It wont have anything to do with you running a FB or FBL head

I dare say its one of your gyro settings

you need to set the correct tail frequency on your gyro or it will probably burn out the servo.I think the ds95i is 760ms

this is an initial setup on my DX8
        Gyro rate = 50% with switch=on
        I m using Orange Rx 6ch.

I meant by it wont respond at all to any input from the Tx.
Its connectd directly to the Gear channel to set the 90s

installed Align Ds425M and its working fine.

I just hope its not bust

Unfortunately it may well be burnt out. I haven't touched a gyro in months but I think only a few such as spartans and the align ones support the narrowband/pulse servos such as the ds95i.

What gyro are you using? Unless it supports and is set to 760uS centre pulse, then the servo won't respond.

Off the top of my head, both Spartans, Futaba GY520, Align GP750, GP780 and GP790 gyros should all work as long as they're set correctly.

Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

              I m using quark spartan
              how to set to 760us?

I m always under the impression to connect the servo directly to the Rx to set your 90s then reconnect to gyro to set the gain setting!!

have i got it all worng

If you've connected it to your RX then I'd be really surprised if you haven't fried it .

Put your quark into 760uS mode (read here on how to do this I've completely forgotten http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/q.../quark_1v0.pdf) before plugging in your DS95i and then after this is done plug it in and see if it works. If it does you're very lucky!

I think the servo will be okay.

If it is, once you have it connected up, set your gyro gain on the radio to a negative value (rate mode) and the servo will centre when the heli is stationary, allowing you to set the horn to 90 degrees.

phewwww, that was close I think.
I got it to work. all along it was the wrong frequency.

thanks everyone for your feedback. I ve learnt a very valuable lesson
