  • Are we liking the trex 250 pro dfc?

I hope so I got a second hand example coming, its got a tarot fbl unit on it which is a bit of a gamble but Iv heard good things about them. My mine aim of buying this is for it to be a park flyer in limited space, so hopefully it will fit the bill.

Any tips with it before it comes?

    cheers

I had the 300X and it was twitchy as hell outside a sod to control, the 130X is an angel in comparison (even smaller).

I would love to hear what your thoughts are on the 250 when you go out flying with it. I'm curious as to whether it was a size issue or something wrong in the 300X I had that wasn't recognisable as wrong. It's Beastie went into my T-Rex 500 and it's behaved impeccably.

Strange that you found the 300x so twitchy, it comes in tx mode on the beastx so maybe some dual rates/end point adjustment could have tamed it a bit?. From what I gather the 300x is more stable than the 250 although the 250 is alot more smoother and less noisy than the 300x.

Its a gamble getting the 250 , but like I say it suits me having something this size as there is a park 5 mins walk away, the 500 is way to big for there, the 130x would also be suited for that kind of space. It was either the 250 or the blade 130x, i sold a 130x and have regretted it since, its just so convenient to nip to the park for an hour to fly.

I will keep you posted Vicki on it, quite looking forward to getting the little bugger

I did have it tamed down. I suspect there was something iffy about it but I couldn't put my finger on it.

If you would, please, I could be interested in a 250 size for smaller areas. Mind, I have the 130X for that but I'd still be keen to hear your thoughts.

Hi Simon I believe the early 250's where twitchy, but the newer versions are much better especially the dfc pro.
I would like one to add to my fleet but the 500's next so i will just have to wait.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with the above. I currently own a Flybarred / Quark 250SE and a Beast X (DFC Headed) 250SE. I am just putting the finishing touches to a new 250 Pro DFC with a Brain.
Twitchiness depends on set up, however I do agree the 250s can get away from you fairly quickly. My Flybarred 250 is much more docile (less twitchy) than the Beast X. However the Beast X reacts better to corrections (more locked in) than the Flybarred.

Just need some good weather to maiden the Pro and start setting up the Brain :-)

Great heli to fly. I've had mine over twelve months no problems using standard settings.
the only downfall is when you have to work on them! Pain in the arse! & never over tighten screws the heads strip easily.
              great fun!

              Mini Titan V2

                Hi simon1,
I had a V1 T250 for about a year, mostly it flew fine but the v1 was troubled by tail problems which i eventually overcome by using the S9257 tail servo, carbon tail pushrod and the eventual updated tail assy from align.... now sold.

I then bought and built a 250SE, due to experience with the V1, i installed a S9257 tail servo + carbon pushrod + spartan quark (clear case) gyro.. this heli flies very nice no tail issues at all, i did intend to convert it to FBL but, only after a dozen or so flights, i got interested in a Second hand BeastX Trex250 FBL which i bought and have been flying on/off for about a year.

As Obi Wan say's its how you set up the 250, it can be very twitchy or as tame as you like. i fly the Beast 250 at a small field in the UK, it is quiet and flies very nice even in a medium strength wind, upright or inverted light 3D (still learning).. No tail issues it just flies great.
Brain Goblin 380. Brain Goblin 500 sport. Spirit Trex550e DFC. (BeastX Trex450Pro, BeastX Trex550e DFC... in Thailand)
Brain Oxy 2, Nano CP X BL.
                neXt-Heli, DX9. DX6 G2. PL8 + Coolice 2400W PSU.

I have a fly bar'd 250se with stock gyro and servos and it's a great little thing. Took a while to sort the tail which was mostly down to making sure the tail slider is dead smooth with almost zero resistance. Dumbed it way down with the D/R (seems better with little expo 5%) to start with and slowly ramped up as I got better. Its tricky in the wind compared to my 500 but costs little to repair and does good service as my beater and playing in the garden.

Fitting day glo tail fins and blades help a lot in terms of being able to see it.

                  I would not sell it

We were thinking about featuring one on 3flite.moonfruit.co.uk , Would you all think this would be a quality heli to review, ( that is the dfc pro)??
