          Not really.

The G4/E720 is designed to be easily converted between nitro and electric, the X50 was designed initially as a nitro with a separate electric version following some time afterwards.

I've build both the X50 and the E720 and there is not a lot of similarity between them.

You can recognise the origins of the X50 in the older Raptor models even though it is of course a considerable step forward from there. The G4/E720 doesn't really have much similarity to any of the previous models.
