  • How are the new V3's?

Not seen many reports on the new V3's with Hv gear.

How are they going and what gear specifically are you running.

Mines going great guns, had an issue with my beastx unit that caused me not to get it sorted for a bit, but now is up and running.
Do have a slight issue with the tail as the is a point in the head speed that a vibration occurs on spool up but I think that is to do with the vertical tt gear that has some play, and this has been spotted by others to so may need a shim in there to prevent it moving, but waiting to see if align sort this issue first

Cheers James, just the info I'm after.

If thats the case then I would just shim it and forget it. I always keep shims just in case of issues like this. I find the Aurora tail gear shims to be a great little kit to order and have stock off

To be fair I just haven't had time to look at it properly, was going to this weekend, I hear Duncan has changed his tail drive back to standard straight gears, so may look at that too

I have the same vibe noise so I took my tail box apart to check the vertical drive gear - there was absolutely no play at all. However my canopy was touching the frames/skid mounts so now Dremelled it out and will try it this weekend. I'm using a Fusano V2 canopy on my DFC.

Apart from the one way bearing slipping, the DFC is superb. Very accurate. See my signature for spec I'm running.

                Hey.

I'm biased I suppose, but the V3 is an awesome machine as said above.
It is I feel more nimble, accurate and predictable as a result compared to my older 700E. However this is my first DFC head on a machine this size, so is it through the head or a combination of this with new control layout and HV servos all adding up? I can't say, but either way I'm loving mine...... I'm loving it now in fact...... No not like that, am flying.

I think without a doubt it's Aligns best heli to date.

I really lik their constant efforts to improve upon their designs.

It was only the other day I made a comment that I have had no real interest in Aligns 700 size E but since then for some reason I find myself looking at their HV combo kit. I would of course do away with the CC and 3GX but I like the design more now its direct to swash, the tail looks better and the overall frame layout looks like some actual though has gone it to it. Also seeing as its a V3 I doubt there would be any more updates?

I agree, is the best align heli to date, is fast, tons of power, crisper and sharper than previous 700's before, and though I don't use the 3gx, I have an ar7200bx, it works really well.
It is also very fast in a straight line too Ben

I saved 300 quid on uk retail by getting mine from Hong Kong,a bargain heli indeed, especially after selling the cc and 3gx from it too on top of that saving.

Always worth considering if thinking of buying one.

I had the miss fortune to have the tail output shaft break during the maiden flight, not an isolated incident I understand as the same issue has been reported on HF, I also had the canopy rubbing on the front skid which amplified the sound of the heli and was a little off putting, but now that's been adjusted it sounds and fly's very well.
This is my first 90 size electric so can't compare it to anything else, I'm running a full size Vbar and Align HV servos, which appear to use a lot more juice than the MKS HV Servos Jamiem use's in his Goblin and I'm not beating the crap out of it like he dose.
Its early days for me with this model with the couple of issues I have had I was a little disappointed but I shall give it some time and hopefully the £1200 I've wedged out will have been worth it.
