  • 450 Pro DFC 3GX first impressions

Ok guys so I upgraded my 450 Pro to flybar less at the weekend, new Savox SH025MG servos 3GX 2.1 and Align DFC head. Still tweaking settings but already a massive difference from the old flybar loads more stable than before.

    Hey.

It's surprising the change going to FBL makes and the 3GX on V2.1 is now a much better flybarless controller.

I have to say its no where near as bad as I expected with all the bad comments I've seen here. For the price I paid (got the 3GX second hand but unused) I'm very impressed.

        Hey.

Unfortunately the 3GX did attract the bad feelings initially due to the software allowing more parameters to be changed than most knew what each of them did, combined with a perceived difficulty during setup and it didn't make many friends. However those that stuck with it have now been rewarded with a much nicer unit with the introduction of V2.1, the flight performance is much better as a result. Those that chose not to keep their 3GX's have flooded the market with some seriously cheap and now very good FBL controllers.
I will be the first to admit it's not the best, I think even Align would admit that, but it can hold it's own in this price range.

Keep us posted on how you get on with the model as you put more air time on it.

Made a few more tweaks and it's flying great, got rid of a bit of a wobble by lowering the elevator dial now it's rock steady! So much so that I managed a bit of nose in hovering earlier in my garden (which is only 10m square when the cars on the drive!)

          Very pleased!
