  • trex 700e v2 with YGE 160 esc (help)

Well, I've been waiting for two months already for the Scorpion ESC to fit to my 700e V2 and it is still out of stock and I really want to fly this beast so I've decided to use a YGE160 instead. Hopefully I have not made a mistake with this.

I am very familiar with smaller 500 and 550 size but now that I'm going to be playing with the big boys I need a tiny bit of help....

If there is anyone out there that has some experience with setting up a YGE 160 - particularly with a 700e (probably asking a bit much there) then I'd appreciate some help with and recommended settings for the governor. I'm using the 700mx (510kv) motor and I'll be using a western robotics super bec.

Any tips and suggestions (clean ones please) would be welcome.

    Cheers,
    Simon

Just set it up in automatic mode to start with and see how it goes, the yge gov works well as you know so leave well alone.if your using the prog card make sure you use a 5v supply to set it up as high voltages cause issues with the end points and gov set up.

Hmmmmm- just found out that the used YGE that I'm getting is the Mikado version which has a "locked governor" to vbar - not good as I don't currently use vbar. Does anyone know if this is actually correct, can it be changed to allow normal governor mode?

Bit of an issue really - might need to cancel the deal which is a shame.

      Cheers,
      Simon

Is there a pc adaptor for these controllers, that you could get hold of and would allow you to go into the settings a bit deeper, just guessing here. Might be worth talking to midlands or fast-lads about the controller as they may well of been asked this before.

          James,

Took you advice and called Rob at Midland, he confirmed that the Mikado YGE is pre-set to pass through the Gov to Vbar, but this can be changed by using the Programming card so all is well - brilliant.
