  • Rear Mounted Tail Servo Tray??

    Hello again,
Question for anyone. I am trying to use a rear mounted tail
servo. But I looked up how much is wanted for a rear mounted
tail servo tray, way to much $50 USD. Is there a way to make
one that is safe and would work? Does anyone have the dimensions
of a servo tray for a (Raptor 50)? Ahh yes, yet another strange
    question from Mac
    Thanks

Sounds like confusion between a transmitter tray and a tail mounted servo bracket to me.

Looking for the later and found the former.

        Stuart,
Yes that is what I am looking for (tail mounted servo bracket). I guess I
had my terminology mixed up. The manual that came with the helo
called it a rear mounted tail servo tray. But what you called it sounds
more accurate. Anyway what I am trying to do is to mount the tail servo
on the aft of the helo. The only ones I can find (at least online) seem
to cost a lot, it cant be that hard to manufacture one of these. But I
am trying to not reinvent the wheel as hopefully someone has made
one, or know somewhere to get one that is not so expensive for such
        a simple part.
        Thanks again
        Mac

          Okay now we are cooking.....

          Look here

          http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/mer..._Code=QUKRT-22

you can get them for $35.24. They are generally known as pushrod kits, you can either get ones that mount directly onto the boom as the one shown in the link or a NHP version which attaches onto the frame, this has an advantage if you crash that the mount is generally okay to re-use.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask anything else.
          Cheers

            Stuart,
Thanks, you hooked me up again. You
need to write a book so can share your vast
RC Helo knowledge. This is what I was looking for.
(Even though I did not know it to begin with).
            Thanks again
            Mac
