  • Fusion 50 LiFePO recommendation...

I've got a trio of LiFePO4's (which i've for now put up for sale) since i maidened the Fusion today and a 4ish minute flight was pulling almost 50% out of the 2100mah lifepo pack.

I was hoping for more like 2 - 3 flights per pack (say around a 500mah draw per flight) but clearly not.

Running vbar w/ sats, 3x MKS 980's on cyclic and 950 on tail (non-hv) ....

So what mah pack do i need realistically for the fusion?

I'm using a zippy 2x1100mah on mine and get a good 8 flights out of that.

Something is not right if you are pulling that much in one flight. Is that measured on a meter, or the amount put back in a charge? Li-Fe cells are not good for checking on battery monitors.

Yeah ... think i found that out

Just recharged the pack that read 56% following flight and i've only put back 314mah into it
The 3 packs are all reading different on the meter (between 86%- 97% when full) so dunno ... might be just a terrible meter ... just nervous if i don't have a reliable means to check packs how do you tell when they're below safe charge levels?

Battery checkers are no good with these cells. The only reliable method is to monitor how much you are putting back in. I have a 2100mah in my 600efl and I'm happy with 3 flights. Could probably get more, but I never tried. I have a 3000mah pack on my 700, and it will easily do 4 flights with a lot of capacity to spare.

Most of my flights take about 300-400 mah out of the pack, so I think your set up sounds spot on.
          Cheers,
          Simon

My batts read about 85% even fully charged !
Do a flight and see how much gos back in, then take 30% off the total pack mah So that leaves you with about 1470mah to play with
