  • Original Shuttle Upgrade

Sorry for the "noob" question but I have looked around and cannot find the answer.
I have the opportunity to get a Hirobo Original Shuttle for a great price but I am concerned about getting parts. The question is whether or not I can use parts from a Z or ZX shuttle to replace the parts as I break them ( and believe me I will be breaking parts). I am really not sure what parts are interchangeable with what models.

I have a Shuttle Plus that I love. I picked it up thanks to "electricsceadu" and I appreciate the info he gave me. Perhaps I should just save my money for parts for the Plus and forget the Original. However it still would be helpful to know which parts can be used which models. I sometimes find all these Shuttle models somewhat confusing. Anyway thanks in advance for any help.

most of the parts will fit from the z/zx/zxx
the parts that don't are on the over slung rotorhead but the good news is the underslung head bolts onto the original shuttle (you will need the later mainshaft)
if the clutch goes fit the later top start assemble onto it

the shuttle models are very easy to follow
the z and zts uses bushes in the control arms and bell cranks and as std doesn't have boom braces fitted, the z model is velt start
    the zx has some bearings
the zxx is fully ball raced and is the top start model
the plus and plus 2 are just updates from the zts model
zts = z model with top start

the shuttle rg has all of the hirobo metal upgrade parts fitted including an ali frame the rgm had carbon frames

the good thing with hirobo is that the new parts can be fitted to the old models

WOW. Thanks again electricsceadu. This group really is the best. Looks like it will be worthwhile to get this heli. As I mentioned I will be needing parts. I will be using both of these helis to get my skills up to par. It will be nice to have 2 helis as there is no parts source anywhere near so while I am waiting for parts for one I can "fly" the other. If this idea does not make sense let me know. Ideas from those in the know are always appreciated. Thanks again.

I can never remember all of the differences so thanks for this thread :) currently have about 8 shuttles between my dad and myself, all seem different, but parts are pretty interchangeable.

Electricsceadu - you must have seen me fly (crash). Still love it and love these helis. Pabs I know exactly where you are coming from. When I look at all the Shuttle models I have no idea. The summary above makes things easier for sure. It is really great to know the parts are largely interchangeable. The Original Shuttle will probably be a ZXX or Plus by the time I am done.

iv just got the shuttle plus only been out with it the once but one of the best things I have done in a long time it wasn't flying or even hovering but still had loads of fun trying to get of the ground with out my nerves giving up . I cant wait till the wind dies down and I can give it another go . I managed to get some spares on line I think there called midland rc or something along that line.
