  • Raptor 30 V2 - airborne atlast

Well I couldn't resist getting the R30 V2 in the air, so I took it out the back in the field for some light hovering, in 15mph winds.

Ran a half tank through it and she seems fine, it'll take some getting used too the R30 can't take the wind as good as my Fury so it was a bit of a battle of the elements but she's still in one piece ready for another day.

Once started the engine seemed to run nice no spluttering and idles nice, did lean it a little on the idle needle, but the main is still at 3 turns, loads of smoke and it felt good to get it just off the ground for a little while.
    Cheers

    Hi Stuart,

Well done in getting your rappy 30 off the ground, its always good to hear a story of success.

Yes you will find the rappy to be a little more affected by the elements than a fury, its sort of like comparing a big ole volvo with a mini

Have fun with your new sacrificial heli

    Cheers,

    Pete.

Just a little less power too from that TT39 compared to the OS91 in your Fury.

Remember to put in forward cyclic to climb when inverted otherwise you'll bounce it like I did.

Certainly less power but seemed even at full richness better than the OS32.

I was mucking around with the Tx last night and got another flightmode out of it, now I have 4 modes, so I've moved my throttle switch to a more comfortable position.

I might get a GV-1 for the Fury again as I want some mixing between cyclics and I haven't any spare mixings left so the GV-1 will prove handy.

I hope to be out this weekend providing its not raining, snowing blowing a gale
        Cheers

I've found that the TT39 sips the fuel compared to the OS32. Flight times are much better and it has more power. Weird!

I must get those parts ordered.
