  • Help with head setup

    Hi all

Finally getting some time to do some build on the heli.... thought i'd setup the head for zero pitch etc since i've got all the bell cranks etc mounted...

I've inserted the pins in the frame, my crank to swash links are great and swash is level and locked... swash driver is in place and driving correctly and level but my swash to grip links are having to be made MUCH shorter than the manual to make zero pitch.

Manual says 50mm but i'm needing to do them at 46-47mm to get the grips level. Am i missing something?

I've got the head jesus bolt in the bottom hole in the head so its at its highest... main gear jesus bolt is similarly placed to give most length to head

Attached a pic.... are shorter lengths ok?

    Thanks o illustrious Fusion experts

I dont know about fusions, but as long as there is no binding and you can get your +- 12.5 degrees then there shouldn't be a problem - the links on my 600 are much shorter than what it says in the manual for some reason and it flies fine

Looks fine and tbh ... manuals are guidelines for lengths ...

Thats cool then ... the pins in the frame through the cranks make the setup kinda easy since everything is locked level so as long as my swash and driver are fine then i wasn't worried as much about the grip links but just one of them things

Just make sure when you have it all fitted and the pitch range sorted .. Take the head off and put a swash levelling tool on it to get it level at mid stick and bottom and top ... Other than that go fly . Personally I would go with 11 or 12 on the pitch until you get used to it

Yeah. No need for more than 11
