  • Logo tick

Recently acquired a logo 500se and been setting it up over the last few weeks. Got the vbar programmed and maidened it yesterday. Bit of a tail wag and some insane headspeed as the governor wasnt quite setup correctly.

Anyway, a few adjustments and went for another flight today and with a calmer headspeed i could hear a ticking. Also the gain was reduced and it continued to wag even until it started to drift.

Checked the belt and it seems ok and certainly not slack. Manually turning the tail rotor and there is a tick, but turn the main rotor and nothing.

Anyway before i strip it all down i thought i would find out if anyone had experienced similar and had any thoughts.

Overall though, i am amazed at how quiet the logo is, even compared to a 450!

Mine is exactly the same and I cant pin point it either. I rebuilt the tail box with new bearings still the same.

I will be interested if you find anything.

Could be down to motor timing. Check your timing settings for motor/esc combination.

I have set it to auto-timing, but still wonder whether this may be the solution. Trying to think now whether it was still ticking when it was spooling down or not...

Anyway, will try this first as it is simple to check and then look into other suggestions.

Thanks and keep them coming if people have any ideas

I seem to recall this on my logos. Had it on my xxtreme as well. Could not find the issue anywhere. Stripped everything inc pulling the TT out!

The belt guide pulleys can sometimes have an extra nodule of plastic on the rim where they have been removed from the mould. I eliminated a ticking noise by taking a scalpel it. Long shot but worth checking.
