Considering the airframe is/was circa £600 new, and they sell for £170 tops second hand; it kinda says it all IMO.

As a previous owner of one - personally there a good model but there was issues with gears stripping. I did seem to spend more time fixing mine than flying it but I can honestly say it just always seemed more like bad luck than the heli. As an example M5 bolt from the boom brace went through the leading edge of my blades once and stupid bumps i kept having.

I moved onto a different brand and I'm not complaining. To me at the moment though nothing really holds its value these days not like it used too and I've put that down to the hard times many are having and we just don't have that attitude of paying top buck for good gear these days.

.90 sized heli's are not cheap to run and I suspect the impact of the 700 sized electrics has devalued the nitro end of the market too.
      Cheers

I dont own a 90 but have a vel 50 N2 and i will say it has come with its issues it flies great but then most models do with FBL now but the gears on these things are made of cheese and to date ive approx 45 flights on it with 1 main gear stripped and a few sets of tail gears all stripped in flight and a starter shalf that is slipping from the first start A mate who maindend his fusion and on the 2nd short flight (just hovering)it shead a tooth from the tail gears .so the choice is yours ,,personally i wish id spent that little bit more and got myself a fury 55 or n5c

Heres my 2 cents I recently re entered the nitro scene cut a long story short had a velo 50 and recently brought velo 90 (see sig)

I absoloutly love it its my fav heli its so much fun to through around you can spank the brains out of it and it just wants more...it so agile yet very stable, and will fly sedate very nicely....

The new kits do have upgraded parts there has been plenty of issues in the past but if you build it carefuly thread lock every bolt (make sure you to oil of the bolts) and use red thread lock from the tail back and other sensitive small parts, pin the boom like on the rear I have drilled 4 holes put 4x black tap thread bolts in the front case through the boom. (it will make sense if you get one youll see what I mean) its fine sometimes outrage gears do loose teeth, there is a new CNC delrin gear in the works it will be unbreakable.

Parts are in expensive for a 90 class put a decent 91 engine in it (ys 91 srs or 91hz 3d) yu cant go wrong, wouldnt go with the the big bores as I think this just adds to the strain stick with tried and tested equipment, not only that mine has ample power and im a very demanding user.

To sum it up I have flown many many machines and currently own some of the best this is my fav and I highly recommend it, just take your time building it and build it to the highest standard possible.....go for it
