  • Blade 450 3D - My second ever flight!!!

I took out my Blade 450 3d for the first time today.

I've been using the Phoenix sim and my mCPx as practice and gained a fair amount of confidence.

I've only got two batteries for it at the moment (got more on order from HK). The first flight I took it nice and slow just steady hovering about 5 - 6 feet up and making some nice controlled landings. Scary stuff had my heart was in my mouth the whole time.

The second battery was some more of the same put then started to get a bit cocky flying a little further away and pulled off my first Piro (think that's what you call it anyway) then bringing the Heli down to a nice controlled landing.

I turn to the girlfriend and asked "did you see that?!?!?!"
"No, I heard something, what did you do?" she responds.
"Um dunno, a spiny roundy thing??"

So being egged on to do the spiny roundy thing again a send the Heli up for a final flourish.

    Here is some footage -

After the second Piro my timer starts going off, I panicked a little but managed to get her back down safely all be it a little heavy.

All in all pretty good little outing, feeling well pleased with myself!!

Yep good stuff but don't give up on perfecting them take off's & lands, always good experience for when you do need to make one of those quick landings
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Oh yeah for sure, you can't beat it!!!

Went out again today and loved it I seem to be improving, rather windy out there today but managed to keep her steady.

Four flights without incidence so far.............

I'd keep to just a bit of hovering in the wind, I binned mine last week due to a gust taking me by surprise as I came in to land!
