  • What rx battery to use for nitro planes?

And if possible, can you link me for a decent affordable rc battery please?!
it's only gonna be for my 2 .40 size nitro and 1 .60 nitro planes (and possibly my kyosho concept 30 in Bell 222 heli that I am restoring)
    Thanks

I'm thinking of buying a plane, looking at a tutor 40 trainer.
Just getting a list together, then will be buying one.
What battery option did you go, and how many flights per charge are you looking at.

      Cheers

go the lipo rout - I have in all my planes bar foamie - with a simple drop down bec - then if you go for like a turnigy 5amp bec you can run up to 6 cell... I like to run something like 1800 minimum... on a trainer/std servos I can run 8-9 flights at 6v output.... always rin with a voltz spy or similar on outside... and normally leave lipo connected to on/off switch during the whole day.... also if you build a big old warbird and need some weight gives you opportunity to shift battery around... or put heavier battery on board...

Always do some timed flights with lipos and check your amp rtn into them to give you a comfartable margin...

that's weird! i was thinking about getting a tutor 40 as well. it's cheap and it looks quite nice!
but i just found a thunder tiger 40 mkI which i really want (for sentimental reasons) for the same price so i've agreed to buy it new.

I was watching a thunder tiger trainer on eBay, £72 it went for RTF with flight box starter, bats, charger, TX the lot. Some body got a barging, I missed it due to doing 12hrs at work still.

So I'm not fused if it's a tutor or thunder tiger, as I like the looks of them both.

I have bought the FY-30A already and just waiting for this OT to drop off, so I have more time to find one.

I'm in the process of assembling a Ripmax Citabria,
                  It has a 63" (1600mm) wing span and I'll be fitting a 53 2stroke engine
I was thinking of using a FlightTech 8amp voltage regulator, Gryphon auto boost and 2s li-po.
This should keep it running all weekend,
I was going to use a Gryphon auto boost so that I've not got to put my hands near the prop while connecting the the glow start..
What are your thought s on this?
