  • Replacing fuel tank

I've still got the old style fuel tank so decided to replace it with the new version. Do I have to take the whole of one side of the frame off or is it possible to squeeze it in somehow just by undoing some bolts?

hi mate i am sure you have to take the hole side of the frame off as it will catch where the exhaust gasses go back into the tank to pressurise it well thats how it is on my n2 as i tired to get mine out once by trying that but failed

aslo will prevent you from cracking a frame mybe or damaging the new tank and give you a change to give it a good clean :P

You don't have to take the whole side off. Just undo the bolts from the back upto the main barrings. It opens up enough to get the tank out . Done it many times

Undo the lower quarter of bolts, you can bend the frames enough to get it out.

IMO the new tank is no better as you still have exactly the same issues with replacing fuel lines, but only on one of the outlets.
