  • GA250 gyro with stock DS75 servo?

Bought myself a GA250 mems gyro. Can I use it with the stock blade tail servo?

Only thing I could find is this on helifreak :

"All the EFL's are 1520 ish center.
The DS75's are not officially tested beyond 50hz input. (they do digitally boost the sampling and output.) They will function higher but are not life tested higher.

The DS76T is fully tested and works beautifully on the B450 tail at 275hz... this is what it ships at in the new Blade 450.

We have run the DS76 quite a lot at 200hz on cyclic. Would Expect it would work there on a tail that needs a bit more torque. Not tested higher as it is not targeted for the tail."

Means nothing to me but I do know I need to set the gyro to the correct Hz setting.

    Thanks in advance.

Well I tried it and it doesn't work. Learning here but the servo does not run at a high enough frame rate for the gyro and when on the 400 is used in analogue mode...

So I now have a mems gyro and no suitable tail servo. I've spent the last 24 hours trawling the internet for a suitable digital tail servo that can handle a 1520us/333hz input or higher that does not cost a gazzillion quid (since I'm probably going to crash it again fairly soon).
If some charitable soul could recommend me something suitable (20 pounds?) I'd really appreciate it as I really don't have a clue.

Two that spring to mind are the Align DS520 (approx £30) and the HITEC HS5084MG (approx £25).

DS520 come up on the forum occasionally quite cheaply so its worth keeping an eye out for one.

Oh forgot to add. If this is for a blade 400 then the DS520 will need to be boom mounted however the 5084 can be mounted into the frame with a small modification (see attached pics).

Thanks for that ^ Bolders. I have ordered a 5084. Fingers crossed it fixes the drift.

Quick update. Servo arrived yesterday, fitted and set up last night. Had a quick go after work and it's really windy but the tail holds perfectly. Hovering only using the cyclic as a noob in gusty winds...

I have used 2x savox 0257 servos with the GA250 gyro and they held great
