  • My V Bar is possessed by the Devil... Please Help

Set up band new mini vbar on a logo 600 the other day. All appeared well and clicked finish at the end of the process, disconnected the usb lead and swithed everything off.

Swithced on tx and reciever today and the swash went up and down somewhere between 25 and 35 times before settling, the V light on the unit also continues to flash (does not go solid). After the swash does settle control seems normal. At this stage theree is no esc connected.

Its hooked up to a futaba s bus reciever and an 8fg transmitter.

Does anyone have any ideas how to sort it? Or how to completely reset it and start again?

I can email a video of the problem, tried to upload it but did said invalid file.

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

Mine is doing exactly the same as yours, the event log says something about a elevator servo problem, what does yours say.....

I had that problem before and it was the sensor that was bad so am guessing u have a bad sensor.

            Hi,

            >>or could well be the wrong model memory,

check, whether your sticks are centered properly (use the setup software).

Will bring down tomorrow mark , its at mark b's at the moment.

Am hoping it's something daft rather than being knackered but it's from midlands so am sure they will replace if so.

Can double check the model memory
Etc. I thought it would be putting 120 def 3 servos in the tx but checked and was single h1

The only thing I noticed at first glance on the software was total travel on the servos was 101 on everything instead of 100 but all were centred at 0.

                    >> but all were centred at 0.

You may have to calibrate the transmitter, using the PC software. See V-bar manual.
The sticks (aileron / elevator / rudder) need to be centered, that is in the position the V-bar calls "0". Otherwise it will complain at power-up with continuous swash twitching.

For example: If I hold the rudder stick out-of-center while powering up the V-bar in my X7, it gives me 34 swash twitches.

Just seen a thread over on freek where the chap had his swash set up on his tx as 3 servo 120 in place of 1 servo normal. Check this, it may help.

Seen this when there was a power issue.
Check with a seperate rx pack if you have one.

If it still isn't resolved, before we call the exorcist:

Your V-bar is trying to tell you something. Have a look at the...

Have now checked the log file and found the following error shown: Ambiguous Value on Elevator Sensor at Init

It gives the following explanation: The Sensors are calibrated to their centers at each startup. Thsi gives a center value depending on some serial deviation, but they shall stay in 10% of the ideal center. If this is not met, the sensor may be defective. Check the Live display of the sensor for visible deviation. Even it is possible to fly with a decentered sensor, it is recommended to contact the support.

Going to give Midlands a call tomorrow as it sounds like it may well need replacing. Happy to get to the bottom of it though hopefully can get it sorted quickly and start flying the logo

Cheers to all for the advice
