    Horizon Service Bulletin for DX8

    Spektrum DSMX Transmitter Bulletin

    Don't know how old this bulletin is, but what they don't tell you is that if your DX8 is set up for 120CCPM 3 servo helicopter then ailerons should move when you open the throttle. This is logical otherwise the swash plate would not stay level. This is totally opposite from what the bulletin says. Just had this straight from the 'horse mouth' with Horizon in the states.

    Hi Guys, Just thought I would share this with you. Mate of mine had major problem with his Dx8. This resulted in one aircraft lost in the sea. He did get Spektrum to take a look at the transmitter and they found a faulty connector(not too sure of the details) in the transmitter. On the good side they replaced his Dx8 with a Dx7 and £250 towards a replacement model. This may be a one off but worth a mention.

    Wow, thats the first time I have heard for HH taking responsibility for the model! I bet there would be a ton of people on rcheliaddict that would like to hear that, £1000s have been lost due to dodgy gimbals.

      Don't think we are talking about the same problem. The bulletin refers to faulty gimbals, which was a problem they had with the earlier DX8s. Your mates sounds a major failure but at least Horizon came up trumps.

        Weird.

        Personally i use a JR DSX12,but when i had a Blade450 arrive 2 weeks ago a mate downloaded to his SD card the settings from H/Hobies website to get us in the air ASAP.He has all the current updates and obviously swash plate was set to 120% 3 servos.

        It flew great on Intermediate settings and i had a tickle on the advanced settings swell(no probe at all)..


        I think Spectrum need to get there house in order before all faith is lost in there ability to communicate.

        Personally I'm anything burt anti Speccy but must admit the only tx I've had is a DX6i which never gave issues,my mates DX8 also has been fine and i would have no issues in buying another,but if HH are now putting out issue probe my faith would be weakend

          Probably not The same problem but I hate it when info is kept from people,the common word here is 'faulty'

            PS My Spellcheck is really starting to knarle at me lol

            Dont hate it when a mac thinks it more clever than you and changes "but" to "burt","swash plate" to "swap late" LOL
