  • Trex 600 nitro will DFC HEAD fit

Ordered a specky/beastx Ar7200BX today...And just need to order head .. And have a Question.

Does the Align DFC fit a nitro(trex 600). As a new/first time FBL project.

Soz if already covered in a thread...... I've done quite alot of searchs and cant find an answer, also rang fast lads today.... The lad I spoke too didn't know, But he did say if he had one in stock he could look and check..(He was very Helpful)

Any help or links would be very grateful.

    Cheers

    Hey.

Yes, I'm 99% sure it does/will as it is designed to fit the 550/660 class Align machines.

The induced short mainshaft will fit the model as normal, you will need to reuse some components from your existing head assembly such as bearings, thrust bearings, feathering spindle etc.
However, as you may or may not already know, if you do not have the 2 piece blade grips already you will need to add these to your DFC rotor head order.

Make sure the grip clears the anti rotation bracket if you still have the plastic one in the front.

Forgot to say will order blade grips aswell, but didn't know it will need bearings already got new F-shaft, Not probs... going to have complete rebuild, so new bearing will be a good idea,Is it worth upgrading the rubbers. Or any thing else for that FBLs conversion.

          What I'm thinking it Now

          DFC Kit
The grips to go with it
          NEW Bearings
Rubbers KDE? green??? (Heard good reviews)
          Quick UK FBL servo arms.
Will be getting new blades (FBL ones prob align)
          Servos will be DS610's (cyclic)

          Cant wait to try It

I think you'll have to shorten/modify an existing mainshaft as the 550/600e pro only use 2 mainshaft bearings.

I don’t think the shorter main shaft will work. it has the collar built in (will this fit the 600?) also the new shaft is 163mm long the nitro fbl shaft is 191 thats a huge difference. i did some playing on Saturday when i fitted the DFC head to a friend’s 600e. once his was flying i took his head and connected it to my 600N I then measured the distance (gap) from the swash to the ball links on the DFC head @ 0 pitch and there was a 10mm difference. i have a main 600fl shaft which is being shortened by 10mm. i think it will all work then

So, unless I know what i'm doing/experienced the figure this out, as this will be my first FBL project should I stick to stock FBL head setup. The only reason I wanted the DFC head as looks good (my flying skill would proberly not notice a differents) And I have not bought the head yet, and thought why not....

The most important part to me...IS that it works and The FBL project works, with the least problems as possible..

Thanks for your advice, not sure what do now..

I've got a DFC head to put on my 600N. From what I have been able to find out so far, it was designed to fit the newer 600 pro, EFL & 550. These appear to have a shorter elevator A arm than the nitro or ESP. This makes 0 degrees difficult with the DFC head, needing a slightly longer mainshaft than the standard DFC one. I already shorten standard 600n shafts to fit the old FBL head so will have to work out the new length to keep the standard elevator A arm & swash links.
Also because the blade grip ball links are closer to the centreline of the DFC head, work will be needed to achieve the 6degree 'blue light' on the BeastX, hopefully just moving the balls in on the cyclic servo's will be all. I'll post up what I find.

I think I will be going down the line of the tried and tested original FBL align head untill it figuered out,how to set it up(ie..Zero degres, the 6 degrees blue light ETC), how it flys, and then if happy with that, then maybe Try DFC on the other 600.

Also got a mates dad who is and engineer, and could cut down drill an orginal shaft to exact mesurements. So if some body fiqures out excact shaft size, poss will think about it in the future.

Cheers for the help, and would be nice to hear of anbodys else's results Etc.

I was gonna start a new thread about this but no point when this one is here already. So has anyone worked this out yet as i fancy buying a used 600n and fitting the dfc head as a wee project along with a few other mods.
