Mcpx brushes converter

    Mcpx brushes converter

    I have a Steve converter for brushes mod but have seen another chip from bobs workshop (mcpx servo interface) has any one used those and how does it differ from the Steve converter. I think the Steve converts the motor signal and the bob takes the signal direct from the receiver output? But not 100% sure, if this is right then surly the bob is better?

    It is a question that I would dearly see explained.

      with the right ESC like a Walkera WS-WST-10A-L or a flashed XP there is no need for a converter, converters are so 80's nowadays lol

      and what i said would be correct about thesteve and bob's servo interface.

      either or there really is no need for them

        Guy's I have one, I have also some bomb proof skids, but no chance to test inverted! As you know, here in the uk, nearly 2 weeks of high winds and torential rain(including a hose pipe ban), means they haven't had a proper tes, yet. But, from indoor flying, (I have the blue motor upgrade), here are my impressions. There are no steps in throttle response. The rotors begin spinning at extreemly low revs. One notch on a dx6i transmitter actually feels like one notch! When you land you can kill the throttle without the motor inducing a tail spin on a perfectly smooth surface. A brushless motor is extreemly quiet! Apparfently bob reckons i can run a c05m on this when i am ready. The blue motor acts like the stock motor, except, It is quieter, has more torque and is far smoother.

              Ok, gorgeous sunny evening no wind, and first go outdoors with my brushless mcx with bomb proof skids. Here we go, backward figure of eights,rolls, aileron flips, forward flips 5piroflips(first time in the real world!), half piroflips, tail in inverted flight, not controlled figure of eights yet, this conversion is very smooth and powerful.

                  Yes, it is very nice, can't compare it to other conversions as it is my first, all i know is there are no steps in power delivery, and a big improvement in power. There are no more tail blow outs in a loop.

                    should give yourself a fright and stick a spin motor or something in there

                      It's a 3amp esc so you can only run up to 11500kv, so something like a c05m. Think it needs bigger fet's or something to cope with a 16000kv, he was modifying one for someone when I bought mine. That is the disadvantage, the big advantage is a 3amp esc uses far less battery power, I'm getting 4-5 minutes flight time like the original motor.

                        is there still much point to doing brushless on the mcpx? the 130x is coming out next month?
                        how much is it to convert an mcpx to brushless?

                          Around about 30 quid posted, and as it's brushless, it should last a long time. I think the mcpx is probably going to be cheaper to fix than a 130x. So on balance yes, I think so. Oh and by the way, the 130x will be mine!

                              I have just upgraded my mcpx with a 10amp esc and C05M from FL's, connectors are plug and play apart from motor wires which I soldered into the esc. Gives a bit more power than a new stock motor but will hopefully last more than the 20 or so flights before my stock motor started loosing power.
